When the Flames of Persecution Ignite True Boldness and Prayer

by | Sep 10, 2025

Today, our world was shaken today as Charlie Kirk, a prominent conservative activist and co-founder of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot while speaking at Utah Valley University during his “American Comeback Tour.” At just 31 years old, he leaves behind his wife Erika and their two children.

Events like this remind us of the sobering reality of persecution and political violence. But Scripture assures us: when the enemy attacks, the gospel does not retreat, it surges forward.

The Proof of Persecution’s Paradox

From the New Testament to the present day, persecution has a strange, but powerful prophetic effect. In the early church, every attempt to silence the message of Christ only served to spread it even further. I believe that what is happening in the world today will echo that pattern. The enemy may aim to halt the movement, but God uses pressure to awaken boldness, and fans the flames of revival.

This moment, though marred by tragedy, is also a charged moment for the Church to rise, not in fear, but in focused, fiery faith.

Prayer: The Spiritual Response to Violence

Politicians and people across America from all backgrounds have offered prayers and condemned this violence as unacceptable But as followers of Christ, we’re called not just to verbals, words typed or spoken, but to spiritual activation. We have to unite in prayer as never before. Now is the time to pray for three things specifically:

  • For Charlie’s family, grieving at this hour.

  • For the cultural and political climate, that we would not shift toward vengeance, but toward redemption.

  • For the Church, that we would seize this moment to speak truth in love, demonstrate unwavering faith, and extend the gospel into voids left by violence.

Bold Faith That Cannot Be Contained

Charlie Kirk’s death is tragic. But that does not mean we abandon boldness. On the contrary, we pivot. We get even BOLDER. I believe this is a catalyst for a strong move of God across our land.

  • Just as the early apostles rejoiced in suffering because it meant participation in Christ’s own sufferings (Acts 5:41), let us press forward and not retreat.

  • What the enemy means for harm, God will use for harvest. Now is when that becomes even more deeply personal and urgent.

  • We declare that persecution doesn’t stop the move of God…it accelerates it.  And indeed, bold faith can’t be contained.

Millions are mourning Charlie Kirk. But more than mourning, we must choose to rise.

  • Lift your voice in prayer, not just for this moment, but in anticipation of God’s mighty move. It’s time for a new level.

  • Let your faith not be shaken by violence, but charged by it.

  • Let every defeat, crack, or flash of darkness become the very gateway for the Kingdom of God to shine brighter.

We must press forward.  Let revival’s boldness rise…higher, fiercer, and more radiant than ever before.

This is our finest hour.

My heart is broken. Yes, I agree. God will raise up thousands, if not millions, in his place. We cannot back down. 🙏🏼😪🙏🏼
